How to Take Accurate Body Measurements for Perfect Fit

👔 Upper Body Measurements

1️⃣ Full Shoulder / Shoulder Width

Measure from one shoulder bone to the other across the back. Keep the tape straight and snug, not tight.
📍 Tip: This helps in tailoring the perfect shoulder fit for shirts, blazers, and jackets.

2️⃣ Chest / Full Chest

Wrap the tape around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level and parallel to the floor.
📍 Tip: Make sure you stand straight with arms relaxed while measuring.

3️⃣ Front Chest & Back Chest Length

  • Front Chest: Measure from one underarm to the other across the chest front.

  • Back Chest: Measure from one underarm to the other across the upper back.

4️⃣ Waist / Stomach

Measure around the natural waistline (usually just above the navel).
📍 Tip: Don’t pull the tape too tight — keep one finger between tape and skin for comfort.

5️⃣ Hips

Place the tape around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks.
📍 Tip: Essential for both pants and jackets to ensure the garment sits well.

6️⃣ Sleeve Length

Measure from the shoulder seam to the wrist bone with your arm slightly bent.
📍 Tip: Ensures the perfect sleeve length for shirts and jackets.

7️⃣ Bicep / Arm

Measure around the widest part of the upper arm.
📍 Tip: Keeps sleeves comfortable and movement easy.

8️⃣ Neck

Measure around the base of your neck where the collar will sit.
📍 Tip: Keep two fingers inside the tape for comfort.

9️⃣ Jacket Length

Start from the highest point of your shoulder (next to the neck) down to the desired jacket length.
📍 Tip: Usually ends slightly below the hips for a professional look.

👖 Lower Body Measurements

10️⃣ Trouser Waist / Pant Waist

Measure around your waistline where you normally wear your trousers.

11️⃣ Low Hip for Pants

Wrap the tape around the widest part of your hips — typically 7–9 inches below the waistline.

12️⃣ Full Crotch

Place the tape at the center front waist, pass it between the legs, and bring it up to the back waist.
📍 Tip: Ensures comfort and proper rise for trousers.

13️⃣ Thigh

Measure around the fullest part of your thigh, just below the crotch.

14️⃣ Pant Length / Outseam

Measure from the waistline down to the desired pant length at the ankle.

15️⃣ Inside Leg / Inseam

Start from the crotch to the bottom of the ankle along the inside leg seam.
📍 Tip: Important for achieving the correct pant height.

16️⃣ Around the Ankle / Bottom

Wrap the tape loosely around the ankle or the desired pant opening width.
